Sean McAdam reporting Bard out, Aceves and Doubront in

BRADENTON, Fla. -- The makeup of the Red Sox starting rotation is, publicly at least, anyone's guess, with a handful of candidates still in contention for the fourth and fifth spots.
But there's evidence that suggests the rotation is coming into somewhat sharper focus, at least in the eyes of the people making the decisions.
One Red Sox staff member has told others outside the organization that, when all is said and done, Alfredo Aceves and Felix Doubront will have spots in the rotation, with Daniel Bard returning to the bullpen.
Well it would appear that Bobby Valentine wasn't as pleased with his last start as Bard was. Since being a starter in college Bard has struggled with his consistency which forced a move to the bullpen. Those insconsistencys were on display last year and apparently the Red Sox are not confident that Bard has what it takes to be a starter.

While he did struggle at times last year he was still a very good set up man and if it ain't broke I don't see why you needing to try to fix it. Am I nervous that Felix Doubront might injure his arm playing Wii Bowling? Of course I am, but we've got options if he decides to stop caring again.

But before Bard can go back to being the 8th inning guy he's going to need to get his control down. Over the course of this spring he has 10 walks in comparison to 10 strike outs. Not exactly numbers you need from a guy who's job it is to "hold" games in place.
