The Sox squandered a strong outing by Josh Beckett. They had seven hits, but their only run came in the third, when Darnell McDonald scored after doubling.

Boston has now lost three straight for the first time since May 8-10, and seven straight at home against the Orioles dating back to last season.Adrian Gonzalez, struggling, was dropped to sixth in the batting order -- a first in his Sox tenure, I believe.
