The Detroit Tigers scored 5 runs in the top of the 5th inning in a 7-5 win over the Red Sox at Fenway Park. Boston starter Aaron Cook was touched for 6 runs on 9 hits including home runs by Miquel Cabrera and Prince Fielder.

Boston banged out 10 hits; every starter except Jarrod Saltalamacchia had at least one. Carl Crawford hit his 2nd home run of the season in the 7th, a long solo shot into the Red Sox bullpen.
