Daniel Bard creates some buzz after throwing live batting practice

Daniel Bard pitched a live batting practice session on Saturday morning, and created quite a stir in Ft. Myers, Florida. After throwing for about 10 minutes Bard wowed the crowd and left a lasting (more importantly positive) impression in the mind of Red Sox manager John Farrell.

Bard struggled in 2012 as he stepped into a starting role. He began the season with a 5-6 record and a dismal 5.24 ERA. He was optioned to AAA Pawtucket where he continued to struggle. In Pawtucket Bard pitching a little more than 20 innings, and posting a disastrous 7.08 ERA.

During the off-season Bard worked tirelessly to correct his mechanical issues and fix his pitching delivery in hopes of regaining his 2010 form (otherwise known as his breakout year). I believe both Red Sox management and fans would like to see that Daniel Bard again.
