Joel Hanrahan's a better golfer then closer

Apparently being an All-Star closer isn’t the only thing Joel Hanrahan can brag about these days. According to NESN.com’s Hanrahan thinks he’s worthy of being titled “The best golfer on the Red Sox roster” and he’ll have a chance to prove it at their annual Southwest Florida Children’s Hospital celebrity golf tournament today. Yet Hanrahan’s been bragging about his golf game since his time in Pittsburgh.

“I think I’m going on three (tournament wins) in a row”

Hanrahan did reflect on his tenure in Pittsburgh but it was his time (as a Pirate) on the golf course that caused him to ponder how his former team's tournament played out Thursday - now that the legend of Bagger Vance is gone.

“The two head golfers from there (Pittsburg) last year are both down here in Fort Myers now – me and my buddy Kevin Correia with the Twins. I can’t imagine that golf tournament is very good (anymore).”

Let's not forget his memorable run in the 2013 Beautyrest Baggo Classic. I just hope Hanrahan is as confident about his baseball skills during the Red Sox 2013 regular/post season as he is with his short game.
