Looks like Chris Carpenter is heading to Triple-A Pawtucket (insert cricket sound here)

Chris Carpenter must be cussing up a storm right now. The right hand pitcher has been sent to Triple-A Pawtucket, for good (or until the Sox need him again)! Carpenter was on the Red Sox roster until the signing of first baseman Mike Napoli became official.

Carpenter was designated for assignment in January and recently cleared waivers affording him the opportunity to stay within the organization. You’re welcome Chris.

During his 2012 season with the Red Sox Carpenter pitched 6 innings giving up 7 hits, 6 runs and posting a 9.00 ERA. Yikes! Perhaps the Sox made the right call by sending the struggling pitcher to the minors.
