3 Stars of the game: Game 15

The Boston Red Sox were able to keep the great pitching rolling and the bats kept producing runs as the team extended their win streak to 6 in a row, sweeping the Cleveland Indians tonight. In a 3-2 game entering the 7th inning the Red Sox were able to extend the lead by 3 runs with a combination of good base running, clutch hitting and just a little bit of luck. The starting pitching was excellent and made the job of the bullpen much easier tonight, even though they struggled slightly. Here are your 3 stars of the game.

Star 3: Jarrod Saltalamacchia
Salty again caught a great game behind the plate, making great decisions and helping his pitchers execute pitches. Salty also went 1-4 on the night with a solo home run accounting for his run scored and RBI.
Star 2: Mike Napoli
Napoli seemed to be all over the bases tonight, he hit a triple in his first at bat of the game and scored on the very next batter. In the 7th inning Napoli drove in a run with a single, advanced to second on a sacrifice fly and then scored with great hustle on a Mike Carp single. Napoli went 2-5 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.
Star 1: Jon Lester
Lester was on a mission tonight to join Clay Buchholz in the 3-0 club for the Boston Red Sox. This mission was completed after Lester handed the ball over to Andrew Miller after 7 strong innings of work. Lester gave up 2 earned runs on 4 hits over his 7 innings of work. He struck out only 5 but also only walked 1 member of the Indians. Lester threw 115 pitches, 72 of them for strikes. Lester pitched outstanding tonight, he is being the ace that we need him to be. He has under a 2.00 ERA through 4 starts and is setting a great example for the rest of the rotation.
