3 stars of the game: Game 21

Once again the Red Sox have started a winning streak, this one will hopefully last longer than the last one did. A good, but not overly strong performance by Lester lead the team to a victory and yet another series win this year. The only bad spot in this game is that Shane Victorino left the game in the 7th inning with a possible back injury. No news had been said yet on the extent of his injury but hopefully it is not too serious.

Star 3: Jon Lester
Once again Lester got a the ball in an important game and he again went out and performed well. Lester improved to 4-0 on the year while pitching 5 2/3 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits and 5 strikeouts. The only problem with Lester's game tonight was his control, he walked 6 batters. He threw 117 pitches, 74 of them for strikes.
Star 2: Chris Young
Young was great for the Athletics today, going 2-3 with 4 RBI's and 2 runs scored. He hit a 3 run homer in the 4th inning to opening the scoring and then hit a solo home run in the 8th to close the scoring on the night. Without Young in the game for the A's it wouldn't have even been a contest.
Star 1: David Ortiz
Dear Big Papi waiting 21 games was far to long to wait to write about you as the star of the game. Thank you for finally making an appearance in the Star 1 spot on my list. Ortiz went 2-4 tonight with 1 RBI and a run scored. Ortiz got his RBI on a 5th inning single to the opposite field plating Shane Victorino.
