Allen Webster to make his MLB debut Sunday night

Top pitching prospect Allen Webster, acquired from the Dodgers last season, has been called up to start the night cap of Sunday's double header. No one will need to be sent down, as 26-man rosters are allowed for double headers.

In 10 innings at Pawtucket this season, Webster has a 0.90 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 12 strikeouts. His fastball sits at 91-96 MPH, with a lot of movement and some sinking action. He has a plus changeup at 82-84 MPH, and a tight slider at 83-87 MPH. Regardless of the results, expect Webster to go back down to Pawtucket after the game as John Lackey is expected to pitch 4 rehab innings tomorrow and could come back for his next scheduled start.

If this season was a bridge year, then no one appeared to tell the Red Sox. Either way, the future is still even brighter than the present for the Sox, and Allen Webster is part of that future.
