3 Stars of the game: Game 27

After a loss there is 1 person who you want to start the next game, Clay Buchholz. Luckily for the Red Sox that is the situation that unfolded today and Buchholz did not disappoint. Buchholz became the first 6 game winner in the Major Leagues this season after pitching an absolute gem tonight against Toronto going 7 innings allowing only 2 hits. The offense also provided a little pop tonight, using home runs to provide enough runs to down the Blue Jays. Here are your 3 stars of tonight game:

Star 3: Stephen Drew
Wow! Where did this Stephen Drew come from, not only is he hitting well but he is fielding better as well. Drew went 2-4 tonight with 2 RBI's coming in the 2nd inning with a home run to get the Red Sox on the board first. While Drew's average isnt fantastic he is improving at the plate and leaves plenty of room for the Fenway Faithful to forget about his brother.
Star 2: Mike Napoli
Napoli put in an outstanding effort tonight and if it wasn't for Buchholz ridiculous performance would have been named the first star of the game. Napoli went 3-4 tonight, had 4 RBI's and scored 3 of the teams runs. Napoli hit an absolute moonshot homerun into the 3rd deck of the Rogers Centre, a place that I have never seen a ball hit in that ballpark. Napoli's 4 RBI's on the night catapulted him back into the lead for the majors of the category.
Star 1: Clay Buchholz
Clay Buchholz became the first 6 game winner in Major League Baseball tonight with a dominant performance, yet again. In 7 innings Buchholz gave up only 2 hits and allowed 0 runs. This performance lowered his already outstandingly low ERA to a 1.01 on the year, an unbelieveable ERA through 3 starts. Buchholz struck out 8 tonight and only walked 3. One of the most important stats that often goes noticed is that Buchholz only pitched 101 pitches which will allow him to pitch deeper into games when needed later in the season.

What a fantastic performance by the entire team tonight, it was a full 9 inning performance from everyone on the team. 8 of the 9 starters got a hit and the pitching had a great effort too.
