It looked like the Red Sox were not going to take the series in Tampa until Will Middlebrooks came through for the team in the top of the ninth inning to blow Rodney's save opportunity and give the Red Sox the 4-3 win. Here are the 3 stars of the game:
Star 3: Shane Victorino
The Red Sox were held to 4 hits tonight in their win, making Victorino's 1-4 effort tonight a huge contribution to the team. He scored 1 run for the team, after hitting a double and then scoring on a David Ortiz single in the 4th inning.
Star 2: Junichi Tazawa
Tazawa entered the game down 2 runs in the 8th inning and ended up getting the win for the team, improving to 3-2. In his 2 innings of work he struck out 2 batters and 20 of his 25 pitches were strikes.
Star 1: Will Middlebrooks
Middlebrooks provided the hit that gave the Sox the win, a bases clearing double in the top of the ninth inning with 2 outs on. His 1-3 effort tonight also improved his season batting average to .211 on the season and is steadily going up recently.

Tonight was a nice night to be a Boston fan, the Bruins won in overtime and the Red Sox staged a late inning comeback. Do you agree that Middlebrooks is the star of the game? Leave your answer in the comments or let me know on twitter @ryanthahawaiian.
