3 Stars of the Game: Game 59

The rout was on early last night, as the Red Sox handed the Rangers a Texas sized beat down. The win was the third in a row for the Sox and proved that they can play with the big boys from the West Coast. The Sox offense got started early, scoring in the first inning but the big offense came in the 2nd when the team scored 6 runs on only 6 hits. Here are the 3 stars of the game.
Star 3: Stephen Drew
Drew had an excellent night at the plate, going 4-5 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI's. He hit a home run in the 5th inning, his 5th of the year. He increased his RBI total to 24 on the year and is working hard to prove to management that he belongs at the SS position.
Star 2: Daniel Nava
Nava continues his impressive run at the plate this season with another big night against Texas. He went 3-4 with 4 runs cored and 1 RBI. He hit 2 doubles last night bringing his total to 10 on the year.
Star 1: Mike Carp
Carp went 3-4 last night 3 runs scored and 3 RBI's before being ejected for arguing balls and strikes with the home plate umpire. Carp is being a consistent bench player for the Sox and when he plays he provides a good amount of offense. He is hitting just over .300 on the year and has 17 RBI's.

It was difficult to pick 3 stars from last nights game because everyone on the team played so well. Almost every player either scored a run or had 1 RBI. While it makes it slightly difficult for me to pick just 3 players to make the stars of the game it does mean that it was an exciting game for all the fans to watch.
