It surprised me to look at the Red Sox record against the National League this season and see that the Rockies are only the second team from the NL that we have played. We currently have a record of 3-2 against the NL this year and last night was an exciting win for the Sox. They belted out 20 hits and plated 11 runs. Starting pitcher Ryan Dempster got the run support that he needed to get another well deserved win. Here are the 3 stars of the game:

Star 3: Mike Napoli
As we approach the midseason point of the year Napoli is starting to slow off his early season pace but is still putting up great numbers. Last night he went 2-4 with 2 RBI's, increasing his season total to 52 on the season.
Star 2: Ryan Dempster
Dempster continued to pitch well for the Sox this season with his outing last night. He earned his 5th win increasing his record to 5-8 on the season. He pitched 6 innings allowing only 2 runs on 6 hits. He struck out 4 and walked 2. It was another solid outing for Dempster.
Star 1: Dustin Pedroia
Pedroia is in the middle of a race for the starting spot in the All Star game against Robinson Cano of the Yankees, and Pedroia is playing to show everyone that he deserves the spot. Last night was no different, Pedroia went 3-5 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI's. He hit his 21st double on the season and increased his RBI total to 45. He currently has the second best average on the team (.316), has the most runs scored (50), and is second in steals (11).

The team is continuing to play great baseball and seem to be trying to take Bostons mind off of the Bruins. The team plays 3 more games against Colorado and 8 more games at home before they go out on a road trip again. What do you think the Red Sox have to do to keep winning?
