Napoli,Nava belt Red Sox past Yankees

With first base open and David Ortiz at the plate, Yankees manager Joe Girardi opted to intentionally walk Big Papi to face Mike Napoli. The result? Napoli's ninth home run of the season, part of a 5-run 3rd inning as the Red Sox routed the Yankees 12-1 at Yankee Stadium.

In all, Boston ripped 18 hits, seven of them off Yankee starting pitcher Phil Hughes. Napoli (pictured) had three hits on the night including a pair of singles to go with the grand slam.

Daniel Nava added a 3-run blast in the eigth and Stephen Drew hit a solo shot in the 9th. Nava had four hits, Napoli and Jackie Bradley Jr. had three apiece, and Mike Carp,, Jose Iglesias and Drew each had a pair.

Felix Doubront went six innings for the win, his fourth of the season. Phil Hughes took the loss.
