The Red Sox made it official this afternoon recalling right-hander Alfredo Aceves to start tonight against the Rays.

In order to clear a roster spot for him, right-hander Jose De La Torre — who contributed 3 1/3 relief innings while allowing one run last night, was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket.

Alfredo Aceves is 2-1 with a 6.57 ERA this year. In Aceves’ last spot start he went six innings, allowing one run on seven hits in a 9-3 win over the Phillies.
