The stage was set perfectly for the Red Sox to show America that they are indeed the best team in baseball, the Sunday Night game on ESPN. Its the game that everyone that is a baseball fan watches, and the Sox came out flat, getting only 5 hits in 9 innings, scoring 0 runs. Lackey pitched well, a good showing from him back in his old stomping grounds but the offense never got started, and like that they lost a series to the Angels on the road. Here are the 3 stars of the game:
Star 3: John Lackey
Once again Lackey pitched well, well enough for a win if the offense had been able to score some runs. Lackey who is now 6-6 on the year pitched 7 innings allowing 5 hits and only 2 runs. He struck out 9 and walked 2. He now has an ERA of 2.80 on the year.
Star 2: Jarrod Weaver
Weaver improved to 3-4 on the season with a 6.2 inning outing. He gave up 5 hits and 0 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 2. His ERA on the year is now 3.38
Star 1: Mike Trout
Trout was one of the mistakes that Lackey made yesterday, in the first inning Trout went deep off Lackey for a solo home run. He went 1-3 on the day with a walk as well. His home run was the 15th of the year and 57th RBI.

The Sox continue their road trip in Seattle now, with a game tonight against the Mariners. What do you think the team has to do to bounce back from losing 2 games in a row to the Angels? Leave your answer in the comments section below or on twitter @ryanthahawaiian.
