For a second straight night the Red Sox offense was in sync and they pounded out 11 runs against the Mariners. Starting pitching was dominant, one of Doubronts best outings of the season and set the tone for the Sox all night long. Here are the 3 stars of the game:
Star 3: Shane Victorino
Victornio had a 2-4 night before being subbed out by JBJ for defensive purposes. He had 2 RBI's and 1 run scored. His 2 RBI night brought his season total to 24 both which were earned on singles in the fourth and sixth inning.
Star 2: David Ortiz
Ortiz quickly became the all time leader in hits while being the DH. He did this with a double in his first at bat of the night, in the second inning. Ortiz went 2-3 on the night with 3 RBI's and 2 runs scored. He hit his 19th home run of the season, a 2 run shot in the third inning.
Star 1: Felix Doubront
Doubront had a great night, handing in one of the best performances he has had all season. He pitched 7 innings of 1 run baseball allowing only 5 hits. He struck out 6 and walked 2. In 107 pitches 66 of them were strikes.

Another great win for the Sox didnt come without a little bit of worry, with a mini rally by the Mariners in the 8th inning in the major league debut of Brandon Workman. The Sox have a quick turnaround playing a 3pm EST start tomorrow, a noon start in Seattle. What do you think the Sox need to do in order to get the win in the last game of the 4 game series?
