David Ortiz had a pinch-hit two-run homer and Mike Napoli hit his first since early June to help the Boston Red Sox down the Los Angeles Angels 6-2 early Saturday morning.

You gotta love that 1:23 a.m. dirty water.

Shane Victorino scored the go-ahead run in the seventh inning when Jonny Gomes hit a two out high fly ball to $125 million dollar man Josh Hamilton in right field. The ball clanged off Hamilton's glove and Victorino raced all the way from first base to put the Sox up 3-2.

David Ortiz, who had the night off, hit his fifth career pinch-hit home run in the eighth inning and Mike Napoli added a solo-shot in the ninth.

Red Sox starter Felix Doubront (5-3)was solid in 6 2/3 innings of work, giving up just two earned runs and striking out five. Relievers Craig Breslow, Junichi Tazawa and Koji Uehara wrapped things up with 2 1/3 scoreless innings.

It was a good start to the 10-game West Coast road trip for the AL East-leading Red Sox. The Sox have now won five straight and nine of their last 10 games.
