Red Sox starting pitcher Ryan Dempster and Yankees reliever David Robertson are taking their rivalry beyond the mound and going online to see who can raise the most money for charity. It is the Power of 2-Baseball Edition.

Dempster is supporting his Dempster Family Foundation and the quality of life of those affected by 22q Deletion Syndrome. Robertson is supporting his foundation, High Socks for Hope, which helps families impacted by tragedies and natural disasters.

Fans are encouraged to donate to the charities as many times as they like until Monday Aug. 26. Fans can win two tickets to a game and field passes to meet Ryan or David.

The pitcher who receives the most donations will be crowned champion of the Power of 2. The loser will have to arrive at Yankee Stadium in September as a super hero and participate in a game day press conference still in costume.

As much as we would all like to see Dempster in his Captain America costume, let's get the Dempster Family Foundation the win Red Sox Nation.
