OH SNAP! Buchholz was touched by Thor - god of noodle arm regeneration

There are two things I never thought I'd see: The Hamburglar finally stealing those delicious McDonalds french fries, and Clay Buchholz making a deal with the Norse god Thor.

To be fair I don't have physical proof that Bucky's been chillin' with the Marvel money maker, but I do have reason to believe he's been attending some Norse mythology mixers.

I know. I know. Absurd right? But let's go back and look at why I've got this feeling...

Buchholz's had a surprisingly strong performance in Game 4 of the World Series. The Fragile Ace (my affectionate and endearing name for Bucky) threw four solid innings of baseball which, in turn, gave the Red Sox the opportunity to win the game.

As we all know Doubront came in the game, pitched 2.2 innings of spectacular baseball and the rest, as they say, is history. The bottom line... We won a must win Game 4 in this series and Buchholz came out smelling like a new born baby after a well timed bath.

The magic of that night hinged of the fact that Buchholz was giving us, "All he had" in his finally playoff outing. Now, Bucky has decided that he's ALL IN for the rest of the series. That means if the Sox need him to come out of the bullpen in Games 6 or 7, by the power of Thor's golden beard, he's trotting out there - noodle arm and all.

Scott Lauber of the Boston Herald writes:
Perhaps inspired by Game 6 starter John Lackey's one-inning relief appearance Sunday night, Buchholz already has volunteered to pitch out of the bullpen in Game 6 Wednesday night at Fenway Park and a potential Game 7 on Thursday night. It's unclear whether the Red Sox will take him up on the offer, but after nearly a week of wondering whether Buchholz would be able to make his scheduled Game 4 start, doubts about his durability and willingness to pitch through discomfort seemingly have been quelled.

Let's not take the, "Are you frickin' kidding me right now Buchholz? You've been to hurt to pitch and now that we're on the cusp of a World Series win all the sudden the touch of Thor has reawakened your noodle arm???" route.

We've blasted him all season for being the "soft" starter. Since he's willing to step-up let's commend him for doing so - then lord it over his head during contract negotiations!!

I'm just kidding. Love ya, Bucky!

LET'S GO RED SOX... and Thor (as stated by the agreed upon contract between *you know who*)
