BREAKING: Tanaka to Yankees

The Red Sox didn’t ever consider themselves heavy hitters in the race for Japanese pitcher Masahiro Tanaka, but now they will have to hit against him come April.

FOXSports’ Ken Rosenthal reported that Tanaka has landed an enormous 7-year deal with the Yankees worth $155 million. A deal like that may not help the Yankees spend less, as they said they were going to, but it did just give them a serious weapon in the AL East. Still, we’ll have to wait and see if the pitching phenom can bring his top game to the states or if the Yankees will regret spending so much money.

Rosenthal also reported that Tanaka's contract is the fifth-highest for pitchers right now.
