Most of Red Sox Nation has come to terms with the departure of Jacoby Ellsbury and the idea of Jackie Bradley Kr. being his heir apparent, but it's not too late to add a little depth apparently. Despite being overloaded in the outfield, the Red Sox have expressed interested in Chris Denorfia of the San Diego Padres, according to NBC Sports. His stat line, according to NBC Sports, is .285/.340/.419, 18 home runs, 24 stolen bases and 40 doubles in 274 games (155 starts in center)for the Padres. He would most likely be

It's unlikely that they will make a move for Denorfia, unless they deal someone like Mike Carp or Daniel Nava, but I don't see that happening. On the other hand, both Carp and Nava are limited to corner outfield, so if Bradley goes down with an injury, having a back up center fielder might be a good idea. But you could always have Carp or Nava adjust and get them playing time in center, which seems the more likely route, unless they have plans to deal either one that haven't gotten out yet.
