The Red Sox wasted two leads - including an early 3-0 advantage in the top of the first inning - in losing to the Blue Jays 6-4 at the Rogers Centre Wednesday night.

David Ortiz put the Sox up 3-0 with his 24th home run of the year and his fourth of the series. The Blue Jays tied the game with three of their own in the bottom of the frame.

Boston took a 4-3 lead in the top of the fifth on an RBI double by Xander Bogaerts, one of his two hits on the night. Daniel Nava also had two hits including his eighth double of the year.

Clay Buchholz took the loss and saw his record drop to 5-6. He allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits and four walks in six innings of work.
