The trade deadline is inching ever closer, and as such, there are a lot of rumors swirling surrounding the Red Sox with some believing the Sox season over. Without further ado, here is the latest buzz surrounding the Sox.

Koji Uehara: Bleacher Report is reporting that Koji Uehara could be valuable in a trade, but the Sox (and most of Red Sox Nation - including me, mind you) would like to see him stick around for the rest of the season at a minimum. However, Pete Abraham posted this interesting little quote before the All-Star Game:

Uehara would be a valuable trade chip for the struggling Red Sox, but team officials have said they would prefer to bring him back in 2015.

Uehara is generally a cheerful interview subject. But he grew serious when free agency came up.

'The experience with the Red Sox has been fun,' he said. 'The World Series and now being selected an All-Star. But I don’t have any specific teams that I want to play for. Any team that wants me the most is fine.'

What does it mean? I don't know, but the best case scenario for the Sox is to keep him for the rest of 2014 and go from there.

Jake Peavy:
The Cardinals are still in the hunt, but nothing has happened yet because the Sox want a prospect in return, which is not something the Cardinals want to give up. It's still a possibility - the Sox were watching State College outfielder Rowan Wick (.378, 14 HR's, 38 RBI's for Class-A State College Spikes), a prospect in the St. Louis system in case they do make a push, which could still happen since young gun Michael Wacha will be out until September. He's 1-9 with a 4.72 ERA, but he could benefit from a change of scenery.

Andrew Miller: Per CBS Sports, the Sox have been fielding calls about the availability of reliever Andrew Miller. Given his 2.19 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and 60 K's against 12 walks, it's no wonder a number of teams are interested
.

Per CBS Sports:

There isn't a team in baseball -- contending or otherwise -- that couldn't use a reliever like Miller, so it's no surprise he's generating a lot of interest. Teams like the Royals, Angels, Tigers, Dodgers, Braves, Nationals and Cardinals could all have interest, though that is just my speculation.

Will any of these guys be moved? Hard to say, but the Sox need to make a move to keep their slim hopes alive.
