Kelly, just acquired from the Cardinals in the trade for John Lackey, allowed one run on three hits and four walks while striking out a pair.

With the Sox trailing 1-0 in the top of the fourth Bogaerts doubled home Daniel Nava with the tying run off St. Louis starter Shelby Miller. Boston took the lead in the top of the ninth when Bogaerts drove in Yoenis Cespedes with a sacrifice fly.

Koji Uehara scattered two singles in the bottom of the ninth but held St. Louis scoreless to pick up his 23rd save of the season.
