Recap - Yoenis blasts Sox past Reds

Yoenis Cespedes' two-run homer in the top of the eighth inning helped lift the Red Sox to a 3-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park.

The Reds jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning with RBI singles by Todd Frazier and Devin Mesocaro off Boston starter Joe Kelly (pictured).

Xander Bogaerts cut the lead in half with a seventh-inning single to drive in Daniel Nava. Cespedes hit his second Red Sox home run with Brock Holt aboard off Red reliever Jonathan Broxton.

Tommy Layne picked up the win in relief of Kelly who went six innings allowing five hits and three walks while striking out four. Koji Uehara earned his 26th save of the year.
