Wade Miley hurled 7.1 innings of six-hit, one-run ball as the Red Sox stopped the Kansas City Royals 4-1 at Fenway Park. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the Royals.

Miley didn't walk anyone and struck out six in earning his 10th win of the season. The Royals' only run came on a Mike Moustakas home run in the top of the fifth.

Junichi Tazawa closed the game with a 1-2-3 ninth inning to notch his second save.

Boston took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a bases-loaded walk by Travis Shaw. They added three more in the bottom of the third on a two-RBI single by Ryan Hannigan and an RBI triple by Jackie Bradley Jr.

Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts and Travis Shaw each had two hits for the Red Sox.
