Rick Porcello allowed just one earned run over eight innings in a 3-1 loss to the Yankees at Fenway Park on Tuesday night.

Pablo Sandoval put the Red Sox on the board with an RBI single in the bottom of the third inning scoring Jackie Bradley Jr. who had doubled.

New York scored two unearned runs in the fifth after a two-out error by Travis Shaw at first allowed the inning to continue. Stephen Drew followed with a two-RBI double.

The Yankees added an insurance run in the eighth on Bret Gardner's thirteenth home run of the year.

Porcello threw one of his better games of the year striking out a career high thirteen. He gave up five hits and allowed just one walk.

Bradley and Xander Bogaerts each had two hits for the Red Sox.
