Chicago pushed across an unearned run in the top of the second inning on a passed ball and held a 1-0 lead until the bottom of the seventh when Christian Vazquez singled to drive in Chris Young.

The Red Sox loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth but could not push across the winning run.

Steven Wright (pictured) delivered another exceptional start for Boston going nine innings and allowing just one run on five hits and three walks while striking out six.

Meanwhile, his White Sox counterpart Miguel Gonzalez went 6.2 innings holding the Red Sox to just one run on four hits.
