The Red Sox announced Monday afternoon that shortstop Xander Bogaerts has been placed on the 10-day disabled list after injuring his ankle in the seventh inning of Sunday's 8-7 win over Tampa Bay at Fenway Park.

Bogaerts slid into the Rays' dugout chasing a bad throw and suffered a small crack in the talus bone of his left ankle. He is expected to miss ten to fourteen days.

Tzu-Wei Lin has been recalled from Pawtucket to take Bogaerts' spot on the roster.

The X-Man was off to a great start with a team-leading .368 average to go with a .400 on base percentage and a 1.111 OPS.

The injury comes as the Red Sox prepare to host the Yankees for three games Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
