Andrew Benintendi (pictured) continued his own personal hot streak with four hits and a pair of runs scored in the victory. Rick Porcello picked up his 11th win of the year.

Boston took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the third on a Steve Pearce sacrifice fly but the Royals pushed across a pair of runs off Porcello in the bottom of the inning to take a 2-1 lead.

Eduardo Nunez tied the game in the fourth with an RBI single but the lead lasted only as long as the bottom of the inning when Kansas City took a 3-2 lead on a run-scoring single by Adalberto Mondesi.

The Red Sox scored twice in the fifth and added three more in the seventh to pull away from the Royals.

Mitch Moreland, Xander Bogaerts and Nunez each drove in a pair of runs as Boston improved to 62-29 - a full 33 games over .500.

Porcello went seven innings for the victory striking out nine, tying his season high. He allowed three runs on nine hits and one walk.
