Sox outfield on the mend

Carl Crawford - Crawford took 20 swings off a tee this morning in Ft. Myers. This is the most activity his wrist has seen to this point so it's worth monitoring. He should be back by mid-April so let's keep our fingers crossed that he can mentally handle starting a little behind the 8 ball.

Ryan Sweeney - Sweeney has been out for the past week or so with a quad strain. Today he's going to try running the bases. Sweeney will be battling with Cody Ross this spring for right field time so this time is crucial -especially with Carl Crawford missing the first few weeks.

Ryan Kalish - Kalish took 10 swings off a tee this morning. He's still not expected to return to the field till late May or June but when he does it will be interesting to see what the Red Sox do with the 23 year old. It's also worth noting Ryan Kalish's "dumb neck". He just has one of the necks where if you didn't know him and he walked into the room you would go, "Wow that guy looks really, really dumb." Gotta be top 5 dumb necks in the AL East.

Also, Jose Iglesias is back today, playing shortstop and batting 9th. With all of the rumors swirling about regarding Aviles and the Red Sox' feelings on Iglesias it begs the question: Is Jose Iglesias ready to be the starter in Boston?
