Lack-Lester Sox Swept Away

One pitch, one-nothing Toronto.

A forgettable 2012 season for Jon Lester got perhaps even worse Sunday afternoon as the Toronto Blue Jays completed a 3-game sweep of the Boston Red Sox with a 15-7 beat down of the Sox. Lester (pictured) allowed 5 runs in the 1st inning, and another 4 in the 2nd in yet another ugly performance that leaves the pitcher, his coaches & teammates, and fans wondering just what is wrong here.

Toronto leadoff hitter Brett Lawrie smacked the 1st pitch of the afternoon from Jon Lester over the Monster, the 1st of 4 home runs he would allow in the game.

Adrian Gonzalez and Jacoby Ellsbury homered for the Red Sox.

The impact of this game goes far beyond today's result. Coming up for the Sox is a 2-city 6-game road trip against the Rangers and Yankees and the Sox go in with a bullpen that saw way too much action against a Toronto team they should have beaten twice, if not outright swept.

Of bigger concern is figuring out what is bothering Jon Lester. If the Red Sox and Lester don't figure it out soon, you can start the countdown to Truck Day 2013.
