Mistakes Cost Cook, Sox
Aaron Cook made two mistakes Saturday night. And both of them were hit out of Fenway Park by Toronto hitters. Edwin Encarnacion's 2-run shot in the top of the 6th inning tied the game at 3, and J.P. Arencebia's solo home run an inning later gave the Blue Jays a 4-3 lead en route to a 7-3 win over the Red Sox at Fenway Park.
Jarrod Saltalamacchia put the Red Sox ahead 3-0 in the bottom of the 2nd with his 18th home run of the season with two aboard. It broke an 0-14 streak for Saltalamacchia.
Cook (pictured) was also hurt by suspect fielding, including errors by Pedro Ciriaco and Will Middlebrooks which led to unearned runs.
