Welcome Back CC & Youk

It had an almost poetic feel to it. On a night when Carl Crawford finally made his 2012 debut, Kevin Youkilis also made his return to Fenway Park for the first time since being traded to the Chicago White Sox. Youk, greeted warmly by the Fenway Faithful, went 3-for-4 and scored the lone Chicago run in a 5-1 Red Sox victory.

Meanwhile, Crawford (pictured) went 1-for-3 with a walk; he scored 2 of the 5 Red Sox runs.

Red Sox starter Aaron Cook pitched 7 strong innings allowing 1 run on 5 hits and no walks. Vicente Padilla got the win in relief with a perfect 8th inning.

Adrian Gonzalez broke a 1-1 tie with his 7th home run of the season, a 3-run blast over the Monster; he drove in 4 runs on the night. Pedro Ciriaco had his 4th 3-hit game of the season. It will be interesting to see what the Red Sox do with him when Dustin Pedroia comes back Thursday.
