Sox Open 2013 In the Bronx

The 2013 Red Sox schedule will begin very much like the 2012 season will end - in the Bronx. Major League Baseball released its 2013 schedule this afternoon and the Red Sox will open (fittingly enough) on April Fool's Day in the Bronx.

The home opener is April 8th against the Orioles; the Red Sox will play 17 of their first 26 games at Fenway Park.

This will be the 1st time the Sox have opened in New York since 2005. Among the highlights of the 2013 schedule will be interleague play spread out through the season, instead of in June as it's mostly been in the past.

The Yankees won't make their 1st appearance at Fenway until after the All Star Break in July.
