That "Red Sox for Sale" Story Sure Went Away in a Hurry

It's good news, really, that it did. I thought we'd be subjected to weeks of breathless speculation. But I am a little surprised that it died down so quickly. It may have been John Henry's speedy denial, it may have been this piece by Gordon Edes, or it may have been this quote from Larry Lucchino.
"Nonsense," Lucchino said. "As I said, they feel the same kind of competitive juices that the fans feel, that I feel. There's an opportunity here to put the team back on the track it was on for a decade. … There has not been one word, one word of discussion regarding that. We are committed, better or worse, we are the guys to kick around."
Or maybe Bobby did a good job changing the subject?
