According to Boston Globe writer Pete Abraham, John Henry talked to the media today in Spring Training, and laughed when asked if any players were signed for public relations purposes. Last month, former Red Sox manager Terry Francona released a book called "Francona: The Red Sox Years." In the book, he mentions that he was told by the front office that the Red Sox didn’t have any marketable players.

Henry mentioned that this team is wins and loss oriented, not PR or revenue oriented, and that last year's hiring of manager Bobby Valentine was not the right choice for that squad. Henry also mentioned that he is not selling the Red Sox. While some fans seem to want Henry out as owner, the man who helped bring the fans back to Fenway and brought two World Series Championships seems to like his role. And real fans can respect that.
