Edwin Encarnacion's 2-run home run in the bottom of the 7th inning off reliever Junichi Tazawa - his 2nd home run of the game - proved to be the difference as the Red Sox lost to Toronto 9-7 at the Rogers Centre. The loss snapped a 5-game Boston winning streak.

Jon Lester (pictured) started for Boston. He lasted 6 innings and allowed 6 runs (5 earned) on 6 hits and 2 walks while striking out 5. He allowed Encarnacion's 1st home run of the game in the 5th inning.

Three Red Sox had 2-hit games including Jacoby Ellsbury, Dustin Pedroia, and David Ortiz. Big Papi drove in 4 runs, 1 on a solo home run and the other 3 on a bases-clearing double in the top of the 7th inning. Mike Carp and Jonny Gomes also went deep for the Sox who suffered just their 3rd road loss against 7 wins this season.

Reliever Joel Hanrahan, fresh off the disabled list, came on in the 9th inning for the Red Sox. He allowed an RBI single by Colby Rasmus.
