All Papi all the time as Sox cruise

David Ortiz rapped out 3 hits, including a pair of home runs, and drove in 6 runs as the Red Sox beat the Minnesota Twins 12-5 at Target Field.

The Red Sox got on the board in the top of the 1st inning on a 3-run blast by Ortiz (pictured)off Twins starter Scott Diamond. An RBI single in the top of the 4th put the Sox up 4-1, and Ortiz slammed a 2-run home run in the top of the 7th. In all, Ortiz drove in 6 runs in the Sox win.

The Boston offense totalled 12 hits including 2-hit games from Dustin Pedroia, Daniel Nava and Will Middlebrooks.

Ryan Dempster started for Boston. He lasted 4.2 innings charged with 5 runs on 8 hits and 6 walks while striking out 2. Craig Breslow was the winner in relief.
