Sox lose...and that's not even the bad news

When you have the nearly same number of errors (3) as hits (4) and you lose almost as many players to injury (2), you know you're having a bad night.

The Twins beat the Red Sox 6-0 at Fenway Park to even their series at a game apiece. Ryan Dempster was touched for 4 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits and a walk while striking out 8.

The Twins did most of their damage in the top of the 8th inning when they 4 times with help from 2 errors by Pedro Ciriaco and another by Jarrod Saltalamacchia, neither of whom were in the starting lineup. And that's where the news gets bad.

Catcher David Ross and Will Middlebrooks collided on a foul ball in the top of the 5th inning. Ross left the game with what was termed a right quad contusion and Middlebrooks exited in the 7th with pain in his right side.

The lone Red Sox run came on a solo home run by Saltalamacchia in the bottom of the 9th. David Ortiz (pictured) extended his hitting streak to 27 games with a single in the 2nd inning.
