Alfredo Aceves gave the Red Sox what they had hoped for from Jon Lester the night before - six very strong innings - as Boston beat Tampa Bay 2-1 at the Trop giving them another series win.

Back from Triple A Pawtucket making a spot start, Aceves gave up just one run on four hits and four walks while striking out three. The lone Tampa Bay run came in the bottom of the sixth inning on a solo home run by Evan Longoria.

The Red Sox jumped out in front in the top of the third inning on Daniel Nava's ninth home run of the season with Jacoby Ellsbury aboard (pictured).

Andrew Bailey made things interesting by allowing a lead-off single in the bottom of the ninth but he finished with two strikeouts to get the save.
