Yankees boss has message for A-Rod: Shut up!

There was good news and bad news for Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez Tuesday. First the good news. A-Rod has been cleared to play again.

Now for the bad news. Yankees general manager Brian Cashman was not pleased. Telling ESPN New York:

You know what, when the Yankees want to announce something, [we will]. Alex should just shut the f—- up. That's it. I'm going to call Alex now."

Cashman further clarified that Dr. Kelly does not have the authority to clear Rodriguez, he was only involved in the surgery and rehab in New York. Now that A-Rod is in Tampa, that is apparently someone within the Yankees organizations call.

Perhaps A-Rod answered Cashman's call, he hasn't tweeted since.

Of course more bad news could be coming soon. Rodriguez is among the names who have appeared in several documents in Major League Baseball's investigation into the Miami Biogenesis lab that has been accused of distributing performance-enhancing drugs to ballplayers. It's been reported MLB Commissioner Bud Selig may seek to ban Rodriguez for 100 games.

Maybe a ban on Twitter too while your at it, Bud.
