Brandon Workman (pictured) went seven innings in the loss, charged with five runs (three earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out five.

Mike Napoli had three hits for Boston including an RBI double in the fifth inning. Brock Holt and Dustin Pedroia each had two hits. Pedroia and Xander Bogaerts had the other two RBI's in a three-run Red Sox fifth inning.

With the loss, the Red Sox dropped to 10.5 games behind first-place Baltimore and twelve games under .500. Even in what is considered a weak AL East division this year, Boston has to be considered a seller as the trade deadline approaches at the end of the month.
