Travis Shaw's three-hit, five-RBI performance was just one of the highlights of a Red Sox 16-2 win over the Athletics in Friday night's opener of a nine-game road trip.

Shaw (pictured) doubled twice and homered as part of a seventeen hit attack in support of David Price's fourteenth win of the season. Every Red Sox starter had a least one hit - Dustin Pedroia, David Ortiz, Hanley Ramirez and Sandy Leon each had two.

Ortiz and Ramirez each drove in three runs.

Highly-touted prospect Yoan Moncada made his major league debut in the seventh inning. He walked, struck out, and scored a run in his two plate appearances.

Price went seven innings in the victory allowing both Oakland runs on four hits and three walks while striking out seven. He lowered his ERA to 3.92, the lowest it's been since Opening Day.
