Multiple sources are reporting tonight that the Red Sox and Xander Bogaerts have agreed on a multi-year contract extension.

Exact details are yet to be confirmed, but the contract extension is believed to be in the six-year range for $120 million.

Now in his seventh season with the Red Sox, Bogaerts was set to hit free agency following the 2019 season. Bogaerts is currently 26 years old and hit .288 with a career-high 23 home runs and 103 RBI last season as Boston won the World Series.

Full details are expected to be released on Monday.

Of interest - Bogaerts is a Scott Boras client, the agent notorious for taking his players to free agency.
