Red Sox play to a draw

I once had a coach tell me that tying was like kissing your sister. While I never quite understood what the hell that actually meant - the Sox got rather incestual today in Dunedin, FL. It wasn't a complete waste of a day however with starter Justin Germano throwing two scoreless innings while working his way out of a small jam when he hit a batter, but then he was able to get Colby Rasmus to ground into a double play to end the inning. There wasn't much going for the Red Sox offensiveley today with two of their runs coming in the form of an Omar Vizquel throwing error and the other coming on a Ryan Sweeney sacrifice fly. It is worth noting that Cody Ross got another hit to keep his mini hot streak going.

Germano is a real wild card. Injuries and inconsistency have kept him from reaching his potential but there could be something there. It will be worth monitoring how he performs and where the Red Sox see him projecting in their pitching staff.

The Sox play the Cardinals tomorrow at 1:05pm in Jupiter, FL. Josh Beckett will start and with the news that Andrew Miller was scratched with elbow inflamation - Felix Dubront will pitch. Also Theo's compensation, Chris Carpenter, will take the mound to try and show that Ben Cherington deserves that puff piece on RedSox.com Here
