Rays Push Sox Below .500 Again

Sean Rodriguez slammed a 2-run home run off Red Sox closer Alredo Aceves in the top of the 9th inning to lift the Tampa Bay Rays to a 4-3 over Boston at Fenway Park.

Trailing 2-0 heading into the bottom of the 7th inning, Adrian Gonzalez (pictured) hit a 3-run homer into the first row of the Monster seats to give the Sox the lead and it appeared Boston would finally get over the .500 mark. However, in the Tampa Bay half of the 9th Aceves walked leadoff hitter Ben Zobrist and one out later Rodriguez hit his 5th home run of the season.

Clay Buchholz pitched his best game of the 2012 season allowing just 2 runs on 8 hits and a walk over 7 innings. He struck out 6.
