Sox Back To .500 With 7-4 Win Over Tigers
You have to like the formula - 6 solid innings from Felix Doubront (pictured), plus 2 more from Scott Atchison, plus RBI's from six different Sox - and just like that the Red Sox are back at the .500 mark.
Doubront struck out 6 while allowing just 4 hits and 1 walk in picking up his 5th win of the season. Alfredo Aceves allowed 2 runs in the 9th in a non-save situation.
Boston got multi-hit games from David Ortiz, Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Mike Aviles (2 each) and Ryan Sweeney (3 hits) in a 13-hit attack. Of the starters, only Kevin Youkilis was held without a hit.
NOTES - Adrian Gonzalez started the game in right field, his 7th start there in the last 9 games.
Ryan Sweeney was activated before the game and started in center field.
Daniel Bard will start for Boston Tuesday night. The Tigers will counter with some guy named Verlander.
