The Yankee Killer Has His Day Against the Blue Jays


Pedro Ciriaco's 2-out double in the top of the 9th inning scored Jarrod Saltalamacchia snapping a 2-2 tie as the Red Sox beat the Blue Jays 3-2 in Toronto on Saturday afternoon.

Cody Ross (pictured) hit his 21st home run of the season in the top of the 2nd inning to tie the game at a run apiece. Saltalamacchia drove in another run two innings later with an RBI single.

Clay Buchholz pitched 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits; he walked 5 and struck out 5 in the no-decision. Only one of the runs was earned.

Craig Breslow was the winning pitcher in relief; Andrew Bailey picked up his 4th save of the season.

Dustin Pedroia was back in the lineup after missing two days for the birth of his second child (son Cole) with wife Kelli.
